Rutgers-Camden splits volleyball tri-match

CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 12, 2019) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team combined for 96 kills and 92 assists as it split a pair of matches here Saturday.
 
Rutgers-Camden was swept by Elizabethtown College 3-0 (25-21, 29-27, and 25-22) before winning three straight out of four sets against Sarah Lawrence College, 3-1 (17-25, 25-14, 25-16 and 25-17) in the back end of the tri-match.
 
Elizabethtown College also swept Sarah Lawrence College by the scores of 25-20, 25-14, and 25-17.
 
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Tuesday with a 7 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference match at Rowan University in Glassboro.

The Raptors were swept by the Blue Jays in the first match of the day. Elizabethtown College was led by Bryanna Miller, who notched 15 kills and nine digs.
 
Senior Morgan Mulligan accounted for 13 of the 42 kills by the Scarlet Raptors and added nine digs. Senior Jamie Mulligan notched eight kills, 12 digs and one service ace. Sophomore Delaney Kolb also added eight kills.
 
Sophomore Kayla Benesz had a match high with 21 assists, adding one kill, one service ace and seven digs.
 
Sophomore Morgan Fox had a match high with 19 digs.

Morgan Mulligan helped lead the Scarlet Raptors to victory after losing the first set and winning three straight.
She notched 15 kills, 14 kills, and two assists.
 
Jamie Mulligan added 12 kills, eight digs, and one service ace.
 
Four sophomores would be key contributors for Rutgers-Camden. Devyn Cobb notched 12 kills and two blocks. Brinn Hassan and Benesz combined for 47 assists. Fox added 22 digs, which would be the high in that category for the match
