CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 19, 2019) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team combined for 98 kills and 94 assists as it split a pair of non-conference matches here Saturday.
Rutgers-Camden was defeated by Gwynedd Mercy in four sets, 3-1, by the scores of 25-23, 14-25, 22-25, and 19-25. The Scarlet Raptors rallied for a five-set victory against Brooklyn College in their second match of the day. Rutgers-Camden won by the scores of 20-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-16, and 15-6 in the back end of the tri-match.
Brooklyn College defeated Gwynedd Mercy University, 3-2, by the scores of 25-20, 27-25, 17-25, 23-25, and 19-17.
The Scarlet Raptors (12-12) will be back in action Tuesday October 22, in Mahwah, N.J. against Ramapo College at 7 p.m.

Senior
Jordan Erskine accounted for 18 of the 44 kills by the Scarlet Raptors and added one block. Senior
Jamie Mulligan notched 13 kills, 17 digs and two service aces.
Sophomore
Kayla Benesz had a team high with 21 assists, adding one kill, one service ace and seven digs. A pair of sophomores,
Morgan Fox and
Haley Novak both added 17 digs, while sophomore
Brinn Hassan added 11.
Rutgers-Camden 3, Brooklyn 2
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead by winning the first two sets. The Scarlet Raptors were able to rally and win three consecutive sets to seal the come-from-behind victory.
Senior
Morgan Mulligan helped lead the Scarlet Raptors with 13 kills.
Jamie Mulligan added 10 kills, 22 digs, and two assists. Erskine added 12 kills.
Benesz and Hassan combined for 45 assists, with Benesz notching 24 and Hassan adding 21.
Novak collected a team-high 29 digs and added two aces, four assists and one kill.
