Raptors drop volleyball tri-match at Wilkes

WILKES-BARRE, Penn. (Oct. 26, 2019) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team was swept in a pair of matches here Saturday at Wilkes University.
 
Rutgers-Camden was defeated by Wilkes University in three sets, 3-0, by the scores of 27-25, 25-18, and 25-23. Rutgers-Camden also fell to Messiah College by the scores of 25-14, 30-28, and 25-20.
 
The Scarlet Raptors (12-15) close out their season on Tuesday when they host New Jersey City University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match. The 7 p.m. match will serve as Senior Night for tri-captains Jordan Erskine, Jamie Mulligan and Morgan Mulligan.
 
Wilkes 3, Rutgers-Camden 0
 
Jamie Mulligan accounted for 14 of the 41 kills by the Scarlet Raptors and added 11 digs and one service ace. Her sister, Morgan Mulligan, notched 11 kills and one block, while Erskine added nine kills and one block.
 
Sophomore Kayla Benesz had a team high with 19 assists, 12 digs and one service ace.
 
Messiah 3, Rutgers-Camden 0
 
Morgan Mulligan helped lead the Scarlet Raptor with 10 kills, two blocks and one service ace. Sophomore Delaney Kolb added seven kills and two blocks.
 
Benesz had a team high with 25 assists and eight digs. Sophomore Morgan Fox notched 14 digs and three service aces.
 
Messiah College was led by Mary Underman with 17 kills, six service aces and three blocks.
