Oswald, who will begin his 14th season with the Scarlet Raptors this fall, is the longest-tenured and most successful men's soccer coach in Rutgers-Camden's program history. His teams have fashioned a 186-79-35 record in his 13 seasons with the Scarlet Raptors – over 100 wins more than the previous program mark – and he has fashioned a 65-33-16 mark in New Jersey Athletic Conference play. The Scarlet Raptors reached the NJAC championship game for an unprecedented five straight seasons from 2011-15, winning conference titles in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015. They were the NJAC runner-up in both 2008 and 2014.
Oswald led his 2013 team to the finest season in program history. The Scarlet Raptors finished as the NCAA Division III runner-up with a phenomenal 23-1-2 record, losing their only game of the year in double-overtime in the NCAA final. Oswald was honored in Division III as the Coach of the Year by the NSCAA, the South Atlantic Region,
D3soccer.com and CaptainU, in addition to receiving his second NJAC Coach of the Year recognition. He earned his first NJAC Coach of the Year in 2011.
From 2011-13, Rutgers-Camden finished fifth, 17th and second, respectively, in the final NSCAA Division III national rankings. Oswald, who has led his team to the only five NCAA tournament berths in program history, also is a five-time Rutgers-Camden Coach of the Year.
Oswald has served as a member of the NSCAA South Atlantic Regional Ranking Committee, the NCAA South Atlantic Regional Committee and as the NJAC chair for the NSCAA.
Oswald's accomplishments haven't been limited to Rutgers-Camden. For five seasons (2012-16), he was the Head Coach of the Ocean City Nor'easters' Premier Development League team, compiling a 47-19-6 record as the winningest coach in program history. After serving the past two years as the Nor'easters' sporting director, he will return to his coaching role this season.
Oswald's Nor'easters won the 2012 Eastern Conference regular season championship, made a USL PDL Sweet 16 appearance and earned him recognition as a USL PDL finalist for National Coach of the Year. He led Ocean City to its first-ever appearance in the PDL national semifinals in 2013 and his 2016 squad added another run to the PDL semifinals. His 2014 team reached the USASA National Amateur Championship Final Four.
A standout soccer player at Father Judge High School in Philadelphia, Oswald was a member of the 2014 class of the school's Hall of Fame. He went on to a stellar collegiate career at Elizabethtown College, where he earned All-Middle Atlantic Conference First Team honors in 2000 and was nominated for the MAC All-Century Team.
