PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (Oct. 9, 2021) – The Rutgers University-Camden cross country teams competed Saturday at the 13th annual Jack Saint Clair Memorial Race, running six athletes in the event held at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.

The Raptor men saw four athletes compete in the 128-runner 8K race, which featured Division II and III schools, as well as several club programs. Fifteen teams scored in the event, led by the Philadelphia Runner Track Club with 14 points. The top collegiate program, finishing second overall, was Lebanon Valley College with 34 points.
Leading the field was Keith Carlson of the Pacers/GRC New Balance Club (26:08.6), while the top collegiate runner, placing seventh, was Matt Gonzalez of Wilmington (28:12.8).
Leading the way for the Scarlet Raptors was junior
Jason Hyland, who finished 12th overall in a time of 28:57.8. Junior
Andrew Barnhardt placed 56th (32:07.9), while junior
David Morrow finished 68th (32:59.8). Making his Rutgers-Camden cross country debut was sophomore
Dylan Trow, a member of the men's basketball program, who finished 104th (38:24.1).
On the women's side, two Scarlet Raptors ran in the 90-runner 6K race. Ten complete teams were led by Jefferson (40), while Maria Seykora of the Philadelphia Runner Track Club placed first in a time of 23:17.8. The top collegiate runner, finishing third overall, was Felician's Briseidy Balderas (24:55.2).
Senior
Kirstin Slater led the Scarlet Raptors, finishing 34th overall in a time of 27:58.0. Sophomore
Rebecca Savidge finished 69th (34:42.9).
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Border Battle Open Race, which will be held at the Gloucester County Dream Park in Logan Township. The women's 6K run will start at 12:15 p.m. The men's 8K begins at 1 p.m.
