MAHWAH, N.J. (May 8, 2021) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's track team has had strong performances all season long from their stellar duo of throwers, senior
Emily Hilt and freshman
Alexis Marini.

That trend continued here Saturday at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Track & Field Championships, held at Ramapo College.
Hilt continued her season-long stellar performances in three throwing events with top three finishes, placing second of 21 athletes in the discus with a PR of 36.38 meters. She also finished third of 18 in the hammer (46.35 meters) and third of 20 in the shot put (12.25 meters), close to her own program records in both events. She set program records in both those events at her last meet, the Osprey Twilight Meet (April 30) with a shot put of 12.67 meters and a hammer throw of 47.26 meters.
Hilt scored 20 of the Scarlet Raptors' 22 points as Rutgers-Camden finished seventh out of 10 NJAC teams. The event was won by TCNJ, with 309.5 points. Stockton was a distant second with 189.5 points.
Marini, meanwhile, continued her fine rookie season in all three events. She finished seventh in the shot put (10.08 meters) to earn the other two points for the Scarlet Raptors. She also placed 10th in the discus (a PR of 30.83 meters) and 13th in the hammer throw (29.62 meters).
In the 14-athlete field for the 1,500-meter run, the Scarlet Raptors featured a pair of talented freshmen,
Rebecca Savidge and
Ashley Rafferty. Savidge finished 11th in a time of 6:19.25, while Rafferty was 13th in 6:37.62.
The Rutgers-Camden men will travel to Ramapo Sunday for the NJAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
