BRYN ATHYN, Penn. (Nov. 19, 2022) – The Bryn Athyn College men's basketball team broke open a tight halftime lead with a 53-39 second-half run and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 86-68, in a non-conference game here Saturday.
The win lifts the Lions to 2-0, while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 1-3.
Leading, 33-29, at halftime, the Lions saw the Raptors pull within one point (33-32) early in the second half on three straight points from junior guard
Gavin Henry. Two minutes later, Rutgers-Camden took a 38-37 lead on a layup by senior guard
Jaymes Savage before the Lions scored the next seven points to take the lead for good. They led by as many as 21 points (86-65) late in the game.
Sophomore guard Jamal Cannady Jr. finished with 35 points for Bryn Athyn, including a 16-for-19 performance from the foul line. Freshman guard Will Little added 22 points, shooting 10-for-12 from the floor, including 2-for-2 from three-point range.
Junior guard Isaiah Cureton chipped in with 13 points for the Lions, who shot 29-for-59 (49.2 percent) from the floor compared to the Scarlet Raptors' 22-for-58 (37.9). Rutgers-Camden held a 32-27 edge off the boards.
The Scarlet Raptors received 15 points from sophomore forward
Rich Santos, while Henry added 14 points. Freshman forward

Jordany Pierre and Savage each added eight points, with Downs collecting a game-high eight rebounds.

Jordan Trusty-Smith collected seven points, six rebounds and game-high totals of six assists and six steals.
The Scarlet Raptors return home Tuesday night at 8 p.m. to begin their New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule, facing The College of New Jersey.
