CAMDEN, N.J. (Dec. 7, 2022) – Rowan University junior forward Ja'Zere Noel scored 20 points to lead three Profs in double figures as the visitors defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 86-63, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Wednesday night.
It was the sixth straight win for Rowan, which had entered the game scoring 100 points in three of its last four contests. The Profs improved 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the NJAC.
The Profs have won their last three games against the Scarlet Raptors and lead the all-time series, 100-33.
Rutgers-Camden fell to 2-7 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
The Scarlet Raptors held one early lead at 3-2 on a trey by sophomore forward
Rich Santos, but Rowan took the lead for good at 4-3 on a dunk by junior forward Andrew Seager. That started a 13-point run which put the Profs ahead, 15-3. By halftime they held a 45-30 lead and built a lead as large as 28 points (76-48) in the second half.
In addition to Noel, sophomore guard Josh Wright netted 13 points and junior guard Marcellus Ross added 10 for Rowan. Noel added a team-high eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Seager notched a high of three assists, while junior guard Damian Smith had five steals.
Rowan held a slim 36-34 advantage off the boards, while shooting 28-for-51 (54.9 percent) from the floor and 26-for-35 (74.3) from the foul line. Rutgers-Camden shot 24-for-63 overall (38.1), including only 3-for-16 (18.8) from three-point range. The Scarlet Raptors were 12-for-17 (70.6) from the foul line.

Jaymes Savage had a game-high 11 rebounds and freshman guard
Qua'meer Amin notched a team-leading three steals. Amin and sophomore forward
Jordany Pierre chipped in with nine points apiece.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday when it hosts Rutgers-Newark in a 3 p.m. NJAC game.
