MONTCLAIR, N.J. (April 16, 2022) – The Montclair State University women's lacrosse team raced to an 11-0 halftime lead and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 19-0, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Saturday.
The Red Hawks improved to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC, while the Scarlet Raptors fell to 2-8 and 0-3.
Montclair State held a 39-8 advantage in shots, forcing Raptor sophomore goalie
G Bellon to make 12 saves. Red Hawks senior keeper Allyn Lilien made four saves to earn the shutout.
Tristin Konen collected four goals and two assists, Rhiannon Brown had three goals and three assists and Kaitlyn Arcede had one goal and five assists as they all totaled six points for Montclair State. Morgan Connon notched five points (three goals, two assists) and Haley Doran added four points (three goals, one assist) for the Red Hawks.
Connon also added nine draw controls for Montclair State, while Konen and Karli Nevard had five ground balls apiece and Claudia Frye collected five caused turnovers.
Senior attack
Rachel Haigh collected three caused turnovers and four ground balls for the Scarlet Raptors, while Bellon added three ground balls.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Tuesday when it entertains Immaculata University at 4 p.m.
