The Scarlet Raptors' annual alumni game has been renamed in memory of former Rutgers-Camden star Brian Palangi, who passed away last fall in a boating accident on the Delaware River. Palangi was a two-year star center back for the Scarlet Raptors in 2017 and 2018 after a stellar career with Rowan College at Gloucester County, where he was honored as the NJCAA Division III Player of the Year in 2016. During his first year at Rutgers-Camden, Palangi earned a berth on the ECAC All-Tournament Team. As a senior captain in 2018, he was named to the All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team, captured NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on October 8 and was a member of the Cialella Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team.
