CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 19, 2023) – The Kean University volleyball team collected 41 kills and hit .292 overall as it defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 3-0, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match here Thursday night.
Kean won by scores of 25-12, 27-25 and 25-21 as it improved to 13-8 overall and 5-1 in the NJAC. Rutgers-Camden fell to 11-10 overall and 3-4 in the conference.
Kean has won 15 consecutive matches against Rutgers-Camden in their all-time series. The last Raptor win came on Oct. 9, 2012, in Union by a 3-2 score (27-25, 20-25, 18-25, 25-17 and 15-8).
Senior outside hitter Ashley Smith and sophomore outside hitter/right side Bella Stern both notched nine kills, while junior outside hitter Taylor Micheaux and freshman middle hitter Cayley Elena Morrison collected eight kills apiece.
Sophomore setter Aspen O'Brien had 30 assists and dig digs for the Cougars.

Rutgers-Camden returns to action Monday night when the Scarlet Raptors celebrate Senior Night by hosting Penn State-Schuylkill in a 7 p.m. non-conference game.
