Erica Nebrich collected 18 kills and 18 digs, but the Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team lost a tough five-set match, 3-2, here Sunday at Alvernia University.
The Scarlet Raptors (10-8) lost by scores of 26-28, 25-17, 25-17, 20-25 and 4-15. The loss snapped a three-match win streak for Rutgers-Camden, while Alvernia improved to 8-5.
Nebrich's outstanding effort marked her third double-double with kills and digs this season, produced her season high in kills and her 10th double-digit match in digs. She hit .283 against Alvernia.
The Scarlet Raptors had plenty of firepower, as seniors
Dyamond Free and
Isabella Choice added 13 and 11 kills, respectively.
Kaliyah Moss, who has junior eligibility in volleyball, delivered 12 kills and hit a stellar .458. She added a team-high three service aces and a match-high four assisted blocks.
Freshmen
JoAnna Andrews and
Sofia Granieri delivered 27 and 21 assists, respectively, for the Scarlet Raptors. Sophomore
Bella Craig had 13 digs, freshman
Mia Owens had 11 digs and freshman
Madison Snelgrove added nine digs.
Senior Rachel Sipling had a stellar match to lead the Golden Wolves, collecting match highs of 23 kills and five service aces. She added 13 digs and three assisted blocks. Junior Patricia Falar notched 31 assists for Alvernia.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at New Jersey Athletic Conference rival Rutgers University-Newark.
