Alexis Marini...third in the hammer with a PR of 51.21 meters
Marini leads Scarlet Raptors at Paul Donahue Invitational
CHESTER, Penn. (April 20, 2024) – Senior
Alexis Marini finished third out of 25 in the women's hammer throw to lead the Rutgers University-Camden outdoor track program at the Paul Donahue Invitational Saturday at Widener University.
Marini posted a PR throw of 51.21 meters in the meet that included programs from NCAA Divisions I, II and III. Her previous PR of 50.47 meters came at last year's New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships.
While Marini was shining in the field events, freshman
Oluwamayowakun Ojutalayo was turning in outstanding performances on the track. He finished 10th of 78 athletes in the 100-meter dash, tying his PR of 11.07, and placed 15th of 101 in the 200-meter dash with a PR of 22.24.
The men also received strong performances in the 100-meter dash from sophomore
Nadir Paige (19th with a PR of 11.24) and freshman
Robert Bayard (30th, tying his PR of 11.37). In the 200-meter dash, Paige finished 26th (a PR of 22.54) and Bayard placed 45th (a PR of 22.80).
Sophomore
Brandon Butts finished 30th of 59 in the men's long jump (5.74 meters) and freshman
Keion Elliott was 10th of 15 in the high jump (a PR of 1.87 meters).
Freshman
Sydnie Marshall finished 45th of 67 in the women's 400-meter dash (a PR of 1:04.83), while junior
Isabella Bordon was 48th (1:06.14). Marshall also placed 66th of 80 in the 100-meter dash, tying her PR of 13.75 and was 76th of 99 in the 200-meter dash (a PR of 28.14). Bordon was 65th of 98 in the 800-meter run (a PR of 2:36.83).
In the men's 400-meter dash, sophomore
Walter Pierce placed 76th out of 108 athletes with a PR of 53.77.
