CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 11, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden men's soccer team entered its game here Saturday as the sole leaders in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
They finished the day in second place as Stockton University dominated the NJAC showdown to leapfrog the Raptors into the conference lead. The Ospreys grabbed a 3-0 first-half lead and went on to post a 4-1 victory.
The win lifts Stockton to 8-3-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the NJAC. Rutgers-Camden falls to 6-5-2 overall and 3-1 in the NJAC.
Stockton is 30-21-8 in its all-time series with Rutgers-Camden, including 6-3-2 in the last 11 meetings and 4-0-1 in the last five.
The Ospreys took a quick 1-0 lead only 5:57 into the game when junior forward Ernst Louisius scored the first of his two goals on the day. Senior midfielder Uche Wokocha sent a cross from the left side to the far right post and the 6-foot-2 Louisius rose above a crowd in the box to head home the goal.
The Ospreys added another goal in the 38th minute when freshman forward William Lynch ran onto a long pass from fifth-year back Kieran Sundermann. Lynch chipped a shot over Raptor junior goalie
Chris Clune, who was charging out of the net in an attempt to stop the breakaway.
Louisius added his second goal only 47 seconds before halftime, heading in a restart from senior midfielder Aiden Hoenisch.
The Scarlet Raptors finally broke the Ospreys' shutout bid in the 76th minute when senior midfielder
Joseph Lodise scored his team-leading fifth goal from a crowded box. Stockton wrapped up the scoring less than four minutes later when Wokocha finished a restart from just outside the box.
Stockton outshot Rutgers-Camden, 13-8, and held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Clune finished with four saves for the Scarlet Raptors. Stockton's starting junior goalie Brady Bartletta made two saves before leaving the game with an injury in the 24th minute when he collided with a teammate in the box. Senior Kyle Birmingham played the final 66:04 in the Osprey goal, making one save.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action on Wednesday with a 6 p.m. NJAC game at The College of New Jersey.
