LEESBURG, Fla. (March 18, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden softball team saw the University of Scranton rally for five runs in the fourth inning to pull out a 9-8 victory to cap the Scarlet Raptors' tough day at the PFX Spring Games here Tuesday.
Rutgers-Camden (0-11) dropped its first game of the day, 9-2, against Worcester State University (Worcester, Massachusetts).
The Scarlet Raptors close their trip to the PFX Spring Games on Wednesday in Clermont, Florida. They face the Milwaukee School of Engineering at 2 p.m. and end the trip with a game against Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Worcester State 9, Rutgers-Camden 2
The Lancers overcame a 1-0 deficit by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the second inning on the way to raising their record to 3-1.
Rutgers-Camden scored in the top of the second inning when senior catcher
Kendall Lafferty hit a leadoff double and moved to third on a sacrifice by junior first baseman
Bella Lynch. She scored while freshman center fielder
Ryleigh Lender reached on a fielder's choice.
Worcester State didn't take long to respond, combining six hits and three Raptor errors to produce seven runs, five of them unearned against freshman pitcher
Izzy Carels (0-2). Junior first baseman Amanda Adamuska had a leadoff triple in the inning and later added a single as the Lancers sent 12 batters to the plate.
The Scarlet Raptors added their second run in the top of the third inning after junior shortstop
Gianna Bauer was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a wild pitch and went to third on a single by sophomore second baseman

Devyn Jordan drove home the run with an infield single.
Carels worked 1.2 innings for the Scarlet Raptors, allowing seven hits, one walk and seven runs, only two earned. She struck out one. Sophomore
Molly Skelly hurled the final 4.1 innings, allowing five hits, no walks and two runs, one of them unearned. She struck out four.
Carr went 3-for-4 to lead the Raptors' 10-hit attack, while both Bauer and Lafferty went 2-for-3 with one run scored.
Scranton 9, Rutgers-Camden 8
The Royals overcame an 8-4 deficit with a five-run fourth inning to pull out the win. Scranton's big inning included three walks, two errors, three wild pitches and one hit.
That inning helped Scranton (7-4) rally from a big deficit built mainly on a seven-run Raptor second inning. Rutgers-Camden collected seven hits in the frame, including a two-run single by senior left fielder
Emily Dubiago, RBI singles from Lynch, Bauer, Carr and sophomore designated player
Alana Gannon. Lender also was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to pick up an RBI.
For the game, Dubiago went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, while Carr was 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Carr went 5-for-7 in the two games on Tuesday.
