MAHWAH, N.J. (Sept. 23, 2025) – The Rutgers University-Camden and Ramapo College volleyball teams opened their New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule here Tuesday night and in a tight match the Roadrunners pulled out a narrow 3-2 victory.
Ramapo won by scores of 25-20, 17-25, 17-25, 25-22 and 16-14.
Rutgers-Camden falls to 3-7 overall and 0-1 in the NJAC, while Ramapo improves to 7-2 and 1-0.
In the opening set, the Roadrunners overcame a 19-17 deficit with a five-point run, which included two kills by sophomore middle blocker Jasmine Rolle. A service ace by junior outside hitter Claudia Cosme wrapped up the set.
The two teams were neck-and-neck throughout most of the second set, but a 9-2 run by the Scarlet Raptors broke a 15-15 tie, aided by service aces from senior setter

Gabby Gbolahan. The run stretched the Raptors' lead to 24-17 and they wrapped up the set on a Roadrunner attack error.
Rutgers-Camden overcame an early 7-1 deficit in the third set and roared back to post a 25-17 victory, clinched on a Ramapo service error. The fourth set reversed the script as the Scarlet Raptors took an early 11-6 lead, only to see the Roadrunners rally to force the decisive fifth set with a 25-22 win.
In a tight fifth set, the teams battled to a 14-14 tie before the Roadrunners pulled out a 16-14 victory on back-to-back kills by freshman outside hitter Asya Akar. Akar finished with 22 kills and a .429 hitting percentage, while senior setter Katie Bishop finished with 50 assists for Ramapo.
Rutgers-Camden received 12 kills from Granieri, 10 from sophomore outside hitter
Taylor White and nine from Ang. Ang also had a double-double with 12 assists and 11 digs, while adding six service aces.
Junior
JoAnna Andrews had 29 assists for the Scarlet Raptors, while Owens notched 23 digs and senior defensive specialist
Sophia LaPorta added 10.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Thursday with a 7 p.m. non-conference match at Ursinus College.
