PITMAN, N.J.- Two members of the Rutgers-Camden women's volleyball team were lauded with weekly awards by the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) on Monday afternoon.
Mia Owens was named as the Defensive Player of the Week, while
Nissi Wadieh was named as the Rookie of the Week by the conference office. The awards were based on their performances last week.
Owens, in four matches last week, posted 64 digs while posting seven service aces. In the season opening match against Widener, in which RUC won 3-1, Owens had 22 digs and three service aces.
Wadieh, in her first four matches of her collegiate career, posted a .325 hitting percentage on the week. She had six kills each in wins over Immaculata and Penn College. Her high water mark was a 6-1-8 (.625) performance in a win over Penn College on Saturday at DeSales.
Rutgers-Camden (3-2) will host Medgar Evers on Wednesday.Â
