Bash, Campolungo lead Raptor men to third-place finish

LANGHORNE, Penn. (Sept. 6, 2014) – Rutgers-Camden senior Jeff Bash (Atco, NJ/Hammonton) finished 10th out of 101 runners and freshman Richard Campolungo (Burlington, NJ/Holy Cross) ran 14th as the Scarlet Raptor men's cross country team finished third out of 14 teams at the 8K Highlander Invitational Saturday at Cairn University with 103 points.1440
 
The Rutgers-Camden women 's team finished 10th of 18 teams (269) in their 6K race, led by sophomore Millie Kipp (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford), who finished 21st out of 163 runners.
 
Bash posted a 29:26.83 clocking on the very hot and humid day, while Campolungo notched a 30:01.30 time. Sophomore Marvin Sandoval (Camden, NJ/Camden Catholic) finished 21st (30:42.05), sophomore Leo Impagliazzo (West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) finished 27th (31:05.29) and freshman Colin Ward (Gloucester, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) was 41st (32:31.98).
 
Senior Andrew Berger (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) and freshman Brandon Sweeney (Bellmawr, NJ/Triton Regional) finished 48th and 49th, respectively, with times of 33:36.47 and 33:37.26.
 
Kipp posted a 26:08.87 clocking, while freshman Brianna Dugan (Deptford, NJ/Deptford) notched a 27:26.98 clocking to finish 43rd and sophomore Danielle Iannone (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) was 48th at 27:35.16.
 
Freshman Emily Daiutolo (Magnolia, NJ/Sterling) finished 63rd (28:23.87) and the sophomore duo of Kelly Donegan (Stratford, NJ/Sterling) and Melanie Derham (Somerdale, NJ/Triton Regional) was 136th and 137th, respectively at 37:09.97 and 37:15.20.
 
The Scarlet Raptors are idle next week. They return to action Sept. 20 at Richard Stockton College, where the women will run in the NJAIAW Championships, beginning at 10 a.m. and the men run the Osprey Open at 10:45 a.m.
