CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 11, 2015) – The College of Staten Island women's tennis team posted victories at every spot except first singles as it defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 8-1, in a non-conference match here Sunday afternoon.
The Dolphins improve to 9-3, while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 1-6.
Senior
Amanda Hickman (Millville, NJ/Millville) notched the Scarlet Raptors' lone victory with a 6-2, 6-1 win at first singles, raising her program records to 42 singles wins and 75 victories overall.
Sophomore
Angela Errigo (Shamong, NJ/Seneca) dropped a 6-3, 6-0 decision at second singles, while junior
Christine Abacan (Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) lost at third singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Three newcomers to the tennis program, freshman
Ina San Buenaventura (Sewell, NJ/Deptford), junior
Alexa Rocks (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) and freshman
Bryana Foxx-Parham (Richmond, VA/Armstrong) were swept in fourth through sixth singles, respectively, by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
Hickman and Errigo dropped their first doubles match, 8-3, while Abacan and San Buenaventura lost 8-0 at second doubles and Rocks and Foxx-Parham dropped their third doubles match, 8-0.
The Scarlet Raptors return to New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Monday with a 4:45 p.m. match at Kean University.
