Box Score 2 CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 12, 2015) – Tight, one-goal games were the order of the day at the 15th annual Cialella Soccer Classic here Saturday. 
In the opening game of the day, New Jersey City University pushed the nation's top-ranked team, Christopher Newport University, into overtime before the Captains scored on a goal by senior forward 
Ryan Balfour (Shepperton, London/Conestoga), finally getting a ball past the outstanding NJCU freshman goalie 
John Riggs (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville). In the second game, host Rutgers-Camden broke to an early 2-0 lead and outlasted Manhattanville College, 3-2. 
In Sunday's action, Manhattanville will face NJCU at 2 p.m., followed by Rutgers-Camden against Christopher Newport at 4:30. 
The Cialella Soccer Classic is named for former Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director Dr. Edward Cialella, who also was a basketball star, a coach and a faculty member at the university.

D3soccer.com Top 25 poll, outshot NJCU, 24-5, but Riggs played a stellar game in the Gothic Knights' goal, making 12 saves. With 4:10 gone in the first overtime, however, the Captains finally launched their winning attack, with a ball in the box that popped over to Balfour on the left side. He angled a shot across the right panel, lifting Christopher Newport to a 5-0 record. 
CNU had numerous chances against the 1-3 Gothic Knights, holding a 12-3 advantage in shots in the first half, a 9-2 margin in the second half and a 3-0 edge in overtime. The Captains had a goal disallowed by an offside call with 32 minutes left in the second half, saw Riggs snag a dangerous header by 
Zachary Ballard (Nokesville, VA/Patriot) with 15 minutes left in regulation and saw 
Sean Christein (Yorktown, VA/Tabb) hit the left post with one minute left in regulation. In overtime, Riggs robbed Balfour with a great save at the left post before the senior forward finally notched his game-winning goal. 
Senior 
Nolan Mann (Lynchburg, VA/Holy Cross Regional) made two saves to earn the shutout for the Captains. 
Rutgers-Camden 3, Manhattanville 2
 In a contrast to the opening game, Rutgers-Camden (3-1) scored two goals in the first 20:10, both off passes from the left side into the box. Senior back 
Ramadan Bayyan (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) sent a cross from the left side that was one-timed out of the air by senior forward 
Mike Ryan (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) at 18:40 for his team-leading fifth goal. Only 1:30 later, senior midfielder 
Grant Taylor (Mendham, NJ/West Morris-Mendham) took a restart from the left of the box and played the ball toward the far post, where it was headed home by sophomore back 
Aaron Muse (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley).  Manhattanville made it a tight 2-1 game at halftime as the Valiants scored only 36 seconds before the break. Following a corner kick by junior 
Jesper Hjalm (Stockholm, Sweden/Huddingegymnasiet) to the far left post, senior 
Eddie Silber (Holbrook, NY/Sachem East) tucked in his first goal of the season from a scramble by the post. 
Rutgers-Camden scored only 26 seconds into the second half, following a cross into the box from the left side by senior midfielder 
Connor Hurff (Sewell, NJ/St. Augustine Prep). Sophomore 
Feli Csombok (South River, NJ/South River) finished off his first career goal, one-timing a shot to make it a 3-1 game. 
The two-goal lead didn't last long, as Manhattanville (2-2) scored only 57 seconds later. Sophomore midfielder 
Robin Schaufele (Kalix, Sweden/Kungsfaegeln) headed in his second goal of the season at the far right post, off a cross from the left by Hjalm. 
Rutgers-Camden finished with a 19-8 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. Freshman goalie 
James Brett (Palmyra, NJ/Palmyra) made three saves to raise his record to 3-1 for the Raptors. Senior 
Willie Silber (Holbrook, NY/Sachem East) had five saves for the Valiants.
