Box Score MONTCLAIR, N.J. (Feb. 6, 2016) – The Montclair State University men's basketball team placed 11 players in the scoring column, including three in double figures, as it defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 89-74, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Saturday afternoon.
Montclair State evened its record at 11-11 overall and climbed to 7-8 in the NJAC. Rutgers-Camden fell to 2-19 with its 13th straight defeat. The Scarlet Raptors are 1-14 in the NJAC.
The Red Hawks have won seven straight games against the Raptors, 17 of the last 18 and lead the all-time series, 50-9.
Montclair State led all the way, except for a brief 2-2 tie, as it opened up a 47-28 lead at the half. The Red Hawks placed 10 players in the scoring column in the opening half, led by junior guard
Erick Loften-Harris (Brooklyn, NY/Union), who had eight points. Freshman guard
Elijah Robles (Clifton, NJ/Clifton) notched 10 first-half points for the Scarlet Raptors.
In the second half, Montclair State led by as many as 27 points (79-52). The Red Hawks held a 50-26 advantage off the boards and shot 10-for-24 (41.7 percent) from three-point range. Sophomore center/forward
Jarrett Bogus (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) led the long-range shooting, going 4-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Loften-Harris finished with 16 points, while Bogus canned 14 and sophomore forward
Jahvan Rosbia (Blackwood, NJ/Paul VI) added 11. Loften-Harris also had a game-high four steals and tied for the game high with five assists.

Jaleel Christmon (Galloway, NJ/Absegami) led Montclair State's dominance off the boards, hauling in 11 rebounds.
Senior guard
Jonathan Baker-Jernigan (Willingboro, NJ/BCIT-Medford) finished with 21 points for the Scarlet Raptors, the second-highest total of his one-year Rutgers-Camden career behind his 25 points against Kean University Dec. 5. Robles closed with 16 points and sophomore forward
Abby Bah (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Memorial) added eight points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Junior guard
Julian Diaz-Smitherman (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) tied his Raptor career highs with eight points and five assists. The five assists tied Loften-Harris for game-high honors.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Monday when it plays a 7 p.m. non-conference game at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York.
