CAMDEN, N.J. (May 10, 2016) – In their second season of competition in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, the Rutgers University-Camden men's tennis team not only proved itself to be one of the better programs in the GNAC, it also earned accolades for its sportsmanship.

The Scarlet Raptors captured the Institutional Sportsmanship Award when the GNAC announced its Men's Tennis All-Conference teams today. Rutgers-Camden, which qualified for its first berth ever in the GNAC semifinals, also saw junior
Anthony Gendin (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) recognized on the All-GNAC Second Team Singles squad, while junior
Jason Lin (Shirley, NY/William Floyd) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team and also was honored with a berth on the GNAC All-Tournament Team.

Rutgers-Camden earned the second playoff spot from the GNAC South Division this season, advancing to the conference semifinals, where it lost to eventual champion Ramapo College. The Scarlet Raptors finished with a 6-7 overall record, including a 2-1 regular-season mark in the GNAC. The six wins tripled the amount of victories the Raptors compiled last season.

Gendin, in his first season of collegiate tennis, was the Scarlet Raptors' No. 1 singles player throughout the season, compiling a 3-9 mark against Rutgers-Camden's top singles opponent. He posted a 2-1 record in GNAC play. He also teamed with Christopher to compile a 5-7 doubles record, going 5-6 at second doubles and 0-1 at third doubles. The team went 2-1 in GNAC doubles play.
Lin, who served as the Scarlet Raptors' captain, captured his third Rutgers-Camden tennis letter. He compiled a 7-6 record in singles (7-4 at fifth singles and 0-1 at both third and sixth singles). He also owned a 3-10 overall mark at first doubles with four different partners, mainly with Delengowski, where the team went 2-4 overall and 1-2 in GNAC play.
An outstanding student as well, Lin has earned berths on the GNAC Academic All-Conference Team (2015) and was recognized as a North Eastern Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete (2014). A Dean's List student every semester and a member of Rutgers-Camden's Honors College, he also was named to the school's inaugural Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the Fall 2015 semester.
