CAMDEN, N.J. (Oct. 2, 2019) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team dominated John Jay College as it swept a non-conference match, 3-0, here Wednesday night.
The Scarlet Raptors (9-7 overall) defeated the Bloodhounds (1-10 overall) in three sets, 25-12, 25-23 and 25-8.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday with an 11 a.m. non-conference match at Alvernia University.
Rutgers-Camden got off to an early lead in the first set on its way to the win. In the second set, the score was close throughout as the Scarlet Raptors were able to come from behind to win the set.
Senior
Morgan Mulligan helped the Raptors to a 3-0 sweep with eight kills and two digs. Sophomore
Devyn Cobb also added eight kills, while sophomore
Delaney Kolb notched five kills.
Sophomore
Brinn Hassan had a team high in assists with 21 and added two kills. Sophomore
Savannah Hayes added four service aces, four kills and seven digs, while sophomore
Morgan Fox also had seven digs. Senior
Jamie Mulligan added three service aces, and five digs.
The Scarlet Raptors have now won two straight and will be back in action Saturday, October 5 with an 11 a.m. match at Alvernia University in Reading, Pennsylvania.
