CENTER VALLEY, Penn. (Aug. 31, 2019) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team won its first match of the season with a 3-1 victory over Keystone College here Saturday before losing a 3-0 decision against DeSales on the final day of the DeSales University Invitational.
The Scarlet Raptors were paced by sophomore middle hitter
Devyn Cobb, who wrapped up her stellar three-match performance by earning a berth on the All-Tournament team. Cobb completed the tournament for the 1-2 Raptors with a team-high 27 kills and six blocks (three solo and three assisted). Cobb joined Grace Merritt of DeSales, Pamela Heitman of Keystone and Victoria Prokic of Stevenson on the all-tourney team.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Ursinus College.

The Scarlet Raptors lost the first set against Keystone, 25-16, before rallying back to sweep the next three sets, 25-23, 25-17 and 25-22.
Cobb led the way with 12 kills and three solo blocks. Seniors

Delaney Kolb all added seven kills.

Brinn Hassan and
Kayla Benesz collected 16 and 12 assists, respectively, while Hassan added four aces and seven digs.

Savannah Hayes notched 17 and 12 digs, respectively.
DeSales 3, Rutgers-Camden 0
The Bulldogs swept the Scarlet Raptors by scores of 25-19, 25-11 and 25-20.
Rutgers-Camden received seven kills from Cobb, six from Erskine and four from Kolb. Benesz and Hassan dished off nine and six assists apiece, while Fox led the way with 15 digs. Sophomore
Haley Novak added nine digs and Hayes had five digs.
