CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 11, 2019) – The Rutgers University- Camden women's volleyball team defeats Penn State-Abington in a 3-1 victory Wednesday night.
Rutgers-Camden (3-3) won by the scores of 25-18, 25-15, and 25-16. The Scarlet Raptors only lost the second set by a 26-24 score.
The Scarlet Raptors were led by three seniors,
Morgan Mulligan with 11 kills and 10 digs,
Jamie Mulligan with 11 kills and nine digs, and
Jordan Erskine with 16 kills and three solo blocks.
Cortney Schwar led Penn State Abington (4-4) with 17 digs and 28 assists.
Several sophomores on the Scarlet Raptors played a significant role in the team's victory.
Brinn Hassan had a match high with 30 assists and added 10 digs.
Morgan Fox had a team high with 21 digs and three assists.
Kayla Benesz added 18 assists, seven service aces and six digs.
Savannah Hayes contributed 16 digs and one assists, while
Haley Novak notched 10 digs and three service aces.
The Scarlet Raptor will be in action again Saturday, September 14 at Immaculata University for a tri-match also featuring Widener University.
