GALLOWAY, N.J. (Jan. 29, 2020) – A nightmare first half turned into a long night for the Rutgers University-Camden women's basketball team as the Scarlet Raptors dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here at Stockton University, 67-33, Wednesday night.
The Scarlet Raptors scored only 10 points in the opening half and led only once, at 2-0, as the Ospreys built a 37-10 halftime lead. Rutgers-Camden shot only 4-for-23 from the floor, had 12 turnovers and was out-rebounded, 21-13, in the opening 20 minutes.
Stockton, which holds a 63-22 lead in its all-time series against the Scarlet Raptors, improves to 8-11 overall and ties the Raptors in the NJAC standings with a 3-9 conference mark. Rutgers-Camden, which beat Stockton 60-55 at Camden on Dec. 4, falls to 10-9 overall.
The 10 first-half points marked the fewest scored by the Scarlet Raptors since a 34-7 halftime deficit against Rutgers-Newark on Jan. 10, 2009.
Stockton placed three players in double figures, led by 17 points from sophomore guard Hailee Porricelli. Sophomore guard Emily Donzanti and sophomore forward Kiley Gelston both added 10 points. Freshman forward Ionyonia Alves collected 11 rebounds, helping the Ospreys to a 48-35 advantage off the boards, and added a game-high three blocked shots.

Jalissa Pitts accounted for most of the Rutgers-Camden production, notching her second career double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Her first double-double came in a 20-point, 13-rebound home game against Ramapo College Jan. 8.
Rutgers-Camden finished the night shooting 8-for-51 (15.7 percent) from the floor, while Stockton was 19-for-48 (39.6). The Ospreys were 25-for-38 (65.8) from the foul line, while the Raptors were 14-for-24 (58.3).
The Scarlet Raptors return to NJAC action Saturday with a 3 p.m. game at Kean University.
