Over the next several weeks, Rutgers University-Camden will be highlighting senior student-athletes who were denied their final athletic season when the COVID-19 pandemic canceled their spring semester competition. In their own words, departing athletes will discuss their experiences at Rutgers-Camden.

Today's focus is on
Nicole DeMarco, a four-year member of the track program who also saw action at Rutgers-Camden with the basketball and cross country programs. In addition to serving as a track team captain, DeMarco was a long-time member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, including her role as the SAAC Co-Chair during the 2019-20 scholastic year. The Health Sciences major earned numerous academic honors during her Rutgers-Camden career.

  1. What is your favorite memory of being a student-athlete at Rutgers-Camden?
My favorite memory was the ECAC Indoor Track Meet this year. The overnight trips were always my favorite, but this one really felt like the team came together as a whole and we had a lot of laughs.
   2. What will you miss the most?
I will miss my throws team and coaches the most. They really became my family.Â
 Â
3. What is the best advice you have received from your coach?
The best advice I got from my coach is to be patient. (Thanks Coach Ian)Â
 Â
4. What is next for you? What are your future plans and goals?
My next step is to find a job in the nonclinical healthcare field and go back to school for a graduate degree.
    Â
5. Any special thanks, acknowledgements or final words?
Thank you to the sport for allowing me to meet some of the greatest teammates, coaches, and friends I could ever ask for.Â
