Moss named AVCA All-America Honorable Mention

CAMDEN, N.J. (Nov. 17, 2021) – Rutgers University-Camden right side Kaliyah Moss (Rockville, MD/Colonel Zadok Magruder) capped her brilliant rookie season when she was named Division III All-America Honorable Mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

A sophomore academically who has freshman athletic eligibility, Moss becomes the first volleyball All-American in the Rutgers-Camden history. Last week she became the first Scarlet Raptor to earn a berth on the AVCA All-Region 4 team.

The All-America honor closes a spectacular season for Moss, who also earned New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and NJAC First Team honors.

Moss was the third Scarlet Raptor to notch NJAC Rookie of the Year honors and only the second Rutgers-Camden star to capture NJAC First Team recognition. She was the NJAC Rookie of the Week three times during the season (Sept. 13, Oct. 18 and Oct. 25), while also earning Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week recognition twice (Sept. 13 and Oct. 25).

Moss was a major force as Rutgers-Camden posted a 21-10 season, rolling up the second-highest victory total in program history. The Scarlet Raptors capped their season over the weekend in Alfred, New York, when they reached the final game of the ECAC Div. III Volleyball Championships. They defeated Hunter College in the semifinals to post only the second ECAC tournament win in program history before falling to Kean University in the title game.
