CAMDEN, NJ (Sept. 12, 2021) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's soccer team doubled its fun here Sunday, and as a result of sweeping the doubles matches, the Scarlet Raptors defeated Goucher College, 6-3.
The win raises the Scarlet Raptors' record to 3-0 on the young season.
Rutgers-Camden won first doubles, 8-6, behind the combination of sophomore
Sarah Ahrens and senior
Tiffany Trivers. The team of sophomore
Samantha Hoban and junior
Laurel DiStefano won at second doubles, 8-4, while a pair of seniors out of Arthur P. Schalick High School,
Morgan Dempsey and
LeAnne Hall, won at third doubles, 8-2.
Hoban won at second singles, 6-3, 6-2, DiStefano won at fourth singles, 6-4, 6-1, and Hall won at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-4.
Ahrens lost at first singles4-6, 3-6, Trivers was defeated at third singles, 2-6, 6-2 (5-10) and Dempsey lost at sixth singles, 4-6, 3-6.
The Scarlet Raptors return to action Saturday with a 12 p.m. home match against Moravian University.
