IMMACULATA, Penn. (Sept. 5, 2021) – Sophomore
Sarah Ahrens earned her first singles victory at Rutgers University-Camden and added her second doubles win of the weekend as the Scarlet Raptors swept Immaculata University, 9-0, here Sunday.
Ahrens, a transfer from Camden County College, posted an 8-0 win at first singles and teamed with senior
Tiffany Trivers for an 8-0 victory at first doubles. Trivers added an 8-2 win at third singles to post the 23rd singles win of her career, moving into third place by herself on the program's career list. She also is third on the overall victory lift (singles and doubles combined) with 44 wins.
In the second doubles spot, sophomore
Samantha Hoban and junior
Laurel DiStefano combined for an 8-1 win. Both of them also posted singles victories, with Hoban winning at the second flight (8-3) and DiStefano winning at the fourth slot (8-6).
Seniors
Morgan Dempsey and LeAnne Hall combined to win at third doubles (8-2) and post wins in the fifth and sixth singles spots. Hall won 8-4 at the fifth spot and Dempsey posted an 8-2 victory at the sixth position. The wins for Hall were the 21st of her career in both singles and doubles. She is tied for fifth on the career singles list, tied for third with Trivers for career doubles wins and her 42 overall victories rank fourth in program history.
The Scarlet Raptors (2-0) return to action Sunday when they face Goucher College at 12 p.m. in their home opener.
