BRYN ATHYN, Penn. (March 19, 2022) – The Bryn Athyn College lacrosse team opened up a 14-2 halftime lead and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 18-7, in a non-conference game here Saturday.
The victory was the first of the season for the Lions, who improve to 1-2. The Scarlet Raptors fall to 2-4.

Bryn Athyn scored the next three goals before Gailliout notched a goal to pull Rutgers-Camden to within 5-2, but the Lions closed out the first quarter with the next three goals and then tallied all six second-quarter goals. Bryn Athyn led, 18-4, late in the fourth quarter before the Scarlet Raptors notched the final three goals of the game.
The Lions outshot the Scarlet Raptors, 45-10, with an offense that was led by six goals from senior attack Payton Gormley. Freshman midfielder Shea Gormley and junior attack Lee Antwi scored four goals apiece for the Lions. Sophomore attack Nicole McCurdy collected seven ground balls and six caused turnovers.

Isabella Tamburrino collected one goal and one assist. Haigh collected the other Raptor goal.

G Bellon had a busy day for the Scarlet Raptors, making a career-high 16 saves and leading the team in both ground balls and caused turnovers with four apiece.

Rutgers-Camden returns to action Tuesday when it entertains Immaculata University at 4 p.m.
