UNION, N.J. (April 9, 2022) – The Kean University lacrosse team jumped to a 13-0 halftime lead and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 20-3, in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
Kean improves to 6-5 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC, while Rutgers-Camden falls to 2-6 and 0-1.
The Cougars outshot the Scarlet Raptors, 20-1 in the opening half and 32-6 for the game. They received seven goals from attack Dana Meehan, while attack Sarah Wagner notched two goals and seven assists. Midfielder Katie Pileggi (three goals, three assists) and attack Amanda Ehrhart (one goal, five assists) had six points apiece.
Kean led, 14-0, before the Scarlet Raptors tallied their first goal, with 4:05 remaining in the third quarter. Senior midfielder

G Bellon faced 31 shots on goal and made 11 saves. Bellon added a team-high six ground balls, while Gailliout added five. Gailliout also notched four caused turnovers, while senior attack
Rachel Haigh had three draw controls.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Tuesday when it entertains Stockton University in a 4 p.m. NJAC game.
