CHESTERTOWN, Maryland (Sept. 23, 2023) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team capped one of the biggest weeks in program history here Saturday as it swept past host Washington College and visiting Trinity Washington in a tri-match to stretch its winning streak to five matches.
In doing so, the Scarlet Raptors raised their record to 7-5, marking the first time they were over .500 at the end of the day since winning their season opener over Dickinson College on Sept. 1.
In a week that started with a five-set victory at Rowan University in their New Jersey Athletic Conference opener on Tuesday – the Raptors' first win over Rowan since 2013 – Rutgers-Camden outlasted Washington College, 3-1, in four close sets before easily sweeping Trinity Washington University, 3-0, behind a record-tying 11 aces from sophomore
Jessica Wiemer.
Rutgers-Camden returns to New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Tuesday when it hosts William Paterson University at 7 p.m.

The Scarlet Raptors won by scores of 29-27, 25-18, 19-25 and 28-26 over the Shorewomen, who fell to 3-9.
Senior
Dyamond Free collected 13 kills, hit .400 and added one solo block and four block assists, while junior
Kaliyah Moss notched 10 kills, hit .500 and added three block assists.
Seniors
Erica Nebrich and
Isabella Choice added seven and six kills, respectively, with Nebrich also notching seven digs and five aces, while Choice had five aces, one solo block and six block assists.
Freshmen
JoAnna Andrews and
Sophia Granieri led the way with 21 and 13 assists, respectively, with Andrews adding five digs and three aces.
Freshman
Mia Owens led the Scarlet Raptors with 13 digs, while adding two aces. Sophomore
Bella Craig added eight digs and sophomore
Sophia LaPorta had five.

The Scarlet Raptors swept past the Tigers (0-6) by scores of 25-6, 25-10 and 25-4.
Wiemer tied the program's single-match record for a three-set match, collecting 11 aces in the quick win. She tied the mark set by Sydney Allen on Oct. 12, 2013 against Gwynedd Mercy
Junior
Kaitlyn Parrish ripped nine kills and hit .615, while Free added seven kills and hit .500. Andrews led the way with 21 assists, while Granieri added six. LaPorta paced the Scarlet Raptors with five digs.
