Dinerman wins 8K race to pace cross country teams at Osprey Open

GALLOWAY, N.J. (Sept. 20, 2025) –Rutgers University-Camden junior Jacob Dinerman finished first out of 162 runners in the men's 8K race to lead the Scarlet Raptors' cross country team to a seventh-place finish out of 16 teams at the Osprey Open here Saturday.
 
The Scarlet Raptor women finished 12th of 16 teams, led by freshman Dejia Robert, who placed 62nd out of 158 runners in the 6K event.
 
The men's team race was won by The College of New Jersey, with 34 points. Rutgers-Camden had a team score of 239.
 
On the women's side, Rowan University finished first with 43 points, while Rutgers-Camden totaled 367. Rowan's Gabriella Pagano won the race in a time of 22:26.04.
 
Dinerman blazed to a 25:07.20 clocking in the men's race, the fourth-fastest 8K time in program history. He now owns two of the top four times at Rutgers-Camden.
 
Freshman Jack Wessner finished second on the Raptors and 80th overall (29:45.84), while sophomore Josiah Saint Elien was 94th (30:31.42), freshman Dylan Davies was 102nd (31:14.47) and freshman Erick Lopez placed 125th (32:59.26). Freshman Joseph Simone posted a 33:29.76 time to finish 130th, while junior Angel Chaj was 137th (34:05.60). Junior Mike Olsen finished 145th (38:18.53), followed by freshman Jonathan Gomez in 146th place (38:19.03).
 
Robert ran a 6K time of 26:41.19 to lead the Scarlet Raptor women. Senior Xochitl Bautista-Castelan finished 115th (31:46.04) and freshman Elena McGovern placed 117th (32:48.78). Junior Lindsay Lopez Trejo finished 125th (34:27.86), junior A'Maya Stanard was 129th (35:13.54) and junior Mya Cabanas Montero finished 137th (39:43.25).
 
The Rutgers-Camden men will compete in the Paul Short Run on Oct. 3 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Penn. Both Scarlet Raptor teams will run on Oct. 11 in the Jack Saint Clair Memorial Race in Philadelphia.
