Scarlet Raptors win NJAC match

CAMDEN, NJ (Oct. 17, 2013) – The Rutgers-Camden women's tennis team hosted William Paterson University for a New Jersey Athletic Conference match. The Scarlet Raptors beat the Pioneers 7-2.



Rutgers-Camden took two doubles matches over William Paterson University. Avery Forte (Pitman, NJ/Pitman) and Jordan Crawley (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) lost 8-5 in the first spot. In the second spot, Amanda Hickman (Millville, NJ/Millville) and Kelly Bates (Pitman, NJ/Pitman) won 8-1. Kelsey Mercer (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) and Amy Tung (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill) beat their opponents 8-1 in third doubles.



The Scarlet Raptors controlled singles play with 5 wins. Amanda Hickman won 6-0, 6-0 in the first spot. Kelsey Mercer won 6-2, 6-1 in the third spot. In the fourth spot, Amy Tung won 6-0, 7-6 (7-5). Avery Forte won 6-2, 6-1 in the fifth spot. Kelly Bates won 6-1, 6-2 in the sixth spot.



Rutgers-Camden (9-6, NJAC 2-3) will travel to Kean University on Saturday, Oct. 19th.
