Box Score CAMDEN, N.J. – The Richard Stockton College women's soccer team scored a pair of second-half goals and went on to defeat Rutgers University-Camden, 2-0, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game here Wednesday that served as Senior Night for the Scarlet Raptors.
In a pre-game ceremony, the Scarlet Raptors honored six student-athletes playing their final game at Rutgers-Camden:
Katie Angelosante (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan), Molly Felici (Mantua, NJ/Clearview Regional), Bec Garretson (Atco, NJ/Hammonton), Rebecca Gougher (Galloway, NJ/Absegami), Laura Rathof (National Park, NJ/Gateway Regional) and
Rachel Sindoni (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East). Gougher, Garretson and Sindoni all finished among the Top 25 on the all-time list for games played at Rutgers-Camden, with Gougher starting all 68 of her contests (tied for 17th for career games played), Garretson playing in 67 (tied for 20th, including 65 starts) and Sindoni appearing in 62 games (tied for 24th, including 55 starts).
With the victory, Richard Stockton finished in third place in the NJAC regular-season standings. The Ospreys, 13-7 overall and 7-2 in the NJAC, will host a first-round conference playoff game on Saturday.
Rutgers-Camden closed its season at 6-11-1 overall and 2-7 in the NJAC.
Stockton holds a 14-1-2 lead in the all-time series against Rutgers-Camden, including eight straight wins.
The two teams battled through a scoreless first half before the Ospreys' senior forward
Lexi Stasi (Cranbury, NJ/Princeton) put Stockton on the scoreboard only 6:22 into the second half. Stasi broke in from the right side of the box and fired a shot that was saved by Raptor sophomore goalie
Angela Martorano (Gloucester Township, NJ/Triton Regional), but the rebound came right back to Stasi. She finished off the play for her team-leading fifth goal of the season. It was her fourth game-winning goal.
The Ospreys added an insurance tally with 3:30 remaining when sophomore midfielder
Alexa Rubino (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern) scored at the far post off a cross through the box by sophomore midfielder
Adrianna Boucher (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert). Stockton finished with a 16-10 advantage in shots and an 8-1 lead in corner kicks. Martorano made nine saves for the Scarlet Raptors, who also collected a pair of backsaves. For the Ospreys, senior
