Box Score ASTON, Penn. – The Neumann University women's basketball team out-scored Rutgers University-Camden, 41-29, in the second half and went on to win the season opener for both teams, 60-52, in the opening round of the Neumann University Tip-Off Tournament here Saturday.
In the second game, Wesley College defeated King's College, 77-68.
Rutgers-Camden will face King's Sunday at 2 p.m. in the consolation game, followed by Neumann against Wesley in the title game at 4 p.m.
After Neumann opened up an early 17-11 lead, the Scarlet Raptors went on a 12-2 run to close out the first half leading, 23-19. Senior guard
Alex Gravinese (Audubon, NJ/Audubon) had five points in the run, while senior center/forward
Tanjae Lewis (Magnolia, NJ/Sterling) added four, on her way to a double-double.
Rutgers-Camden led by as many as six points twice in the second half, with the last advantage coming at 36-30. Neumann, however, went on a nine-point run, taking the lead for good at 37-36 on a foul shot by freshman forward
Holly McKaig (Dennis Township, NJ/Middle Township) with 9:16 remaining. Moments later, McKaig added a layup to make it 39-36. The closest the Raptors came the rest of the way was one point, at 39-38 and at 42-41.
Lewis finished with game-high totals of 19 points (on 7-for-11 shooting from the floor and 5-for-6 shooting from the foul line) and 11 rebounds. Gravinese added 13 points and four steals for the Raptors, while freshman forward
Michelle Obasi (Camden, NJ/Camden Catholic) scored 11 points and added seven rebounds and four steals in her first collegiate game.

Cara Rocobaldo (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) added seven rebounds and three steals in her first collegiate game.
Neumann received 15 points apiece from McKaig and senior guard
Jessica Schlesman (Barto, PA/Boyertown). McKaig also had a team-high nine rebounds.
Junior guard
Sarah Roberts (Cape May Court House, NJ/Middle Township) notched 10 points for the host team, while junior guard
Latisha Johnson (Philadelphia, PA/Freire Charter) added nine.
Rutgers-Camden shot 38.2 percent from the floor (21-for-55), while Neumann shot 36.4 (20-for-55). The Knights held a 43-39 advantage off the boards and had one less turnover (23-22).
