Box Score CAMDEN, NJ – Rutgers-Camden women's lacrosse team handed Wilkes University their first loss on Saturday, March 19
th.
The Scarlet Raptors and the Colonels battled ferociously the entire game. The score was tied 9-to-9 at the half. Both teams were evenly matched with ground balls (18-to-16), shots on goal (15-to-11), and turnovers (10-to-11). The second half was similar to the first, but Rutgers-Camden outshot Wilkes University 17-7. The score was tied 13-to-13 at the end of the second period. Krystal Valianti for the game winning goal. The 14-to-13 victory over the Colonels is the Scarlet Raptors third win of the year.
Sophomore
Nicole Martin had a team high seven points with three goals and four assists. Martin also notched five draw controls, a caused turnover, and three ground balls.
Cecilia Gross scored three goals, two assists, four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Krystal Valianti netted three goals, an assist, two ground balls, and a caused turnover.
Taylor Reader scored two goals, an assist, and a ground ball.
Natalie DiCarlo had two goals and a ground ball.
Breanna Heifet scored a goal, four ground balls and a team high seven draw controls.
Traven Harris notched four caused turnovers and two ground balls.
The Scarlet Raptors (3-2, NJAC 0-0) will host Delaware Valley University on Tuesday, March 22 at 6 p.m.
