CAMDEN, N.J. (April 26, 2022) – The Rutgers University-Camden lacrosse team closed its 2022 season here Tuesday, facing the top program in the New Jersey Athletic Conference and one of the national powerhouses in Division III.
The College of New Jersey scored 10 goals in the opening quarter and went on to post a 22-1 victory over Rutgers-Camden.
Prior to the game, the Scarlet Raptors celebrated Senior Day for departing players
Claire Gailliout, Rachel Haigh, Jenna Jorgenson, Claire McKernan, Breeanna Stauss and
Jazmin Torres.

TCNJ, which is ranked No. 7 nationally in Division III, improves to 12-2 overall and 5-0 in the NJAC. Rutgers-Camden closes its season at 2-11 overall and 0-6 in the conference.
Sophomore attack Ally Tobler paced the Lions with five goals , while junior midfielder Jillian Westerby netted four and sophomore attack Natalie Berry added three. A pair of attackers, grad student Brianna Hatzold and junior Anna Wright both notched two goals, while six other Lions collected one goal apiece.
Senior attack Jennifer LaRocca, who scored one of the other goals, collected six assists.
TCNJ scored the first 13 goals of the game before Rutgers-Camden notched its lone goal with 7:04 remaining in the half. Sophomore
Isabella Tamburrino tallied her 14th goal of the season, with
Claire Gailliout notching her 13th assist. Gailliout closed her illustrations career with 82 goals (sixth in program history), 32 assists (fourth) and 114 points (fifth).
TCNJ held a 36-6 advantage in shots, including a 27-4 margin in shots on goal. Lions sophomore goalie Julia Charest made one save playing the first half, while freshman Hailey Wexler had two second-half saves. For the Scarlet Raptors, sophomore
G Bellon made five saves, ending the year with a single-season program record of 171. Bellon broke the mark of 170 saves set in 2019 by
Brittany Watson. Bellon also added a game-high four ground balls to finish the season with 46, the fourth-best single-season total in program history.
Junior defense Sabrina Phillips notched 11 draw controls for the Lions.
