CHESTER, Penn. (April 21, 2017) –The Rutgers University-Camden track team sent a handful of throwers to Chester, Pennsylvania Friday on the opening day of the two-day Widener University Invitational.
Rutgers-Camden saw five athletes compete in the shot put, including a trio of women, who were led by freshman
Nicole DeMarco (Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester City). DeMarco finished 25th in the 47-woman competition with a shot put of 9.41 meters, while sophomore
Ki-Jana Shockley (Millville, NJ/Millville) finished 31st with a shot put of 8.79 meters. Sophomore
Alyssa Charlemagne (Willingboro, NJ/Willingboro) finished 44th with a personal best of 6.92 meters.
On the men's side, the 44-man competition in the shot put junior
Ken Robinson (Teaneck, NJ/Blessed Sacrament Saint Gabriel), who finished 36th with a shot put of 10.43 meters. Sophomore
Peter Rivera (Glassboro, NJ/LEAP Academy) finished 44th with a 7.23-meter toss.
The bulk of the Raptors' team will compete Saturday at the Widener University Invitational.
