Drew Harper (Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood) continued raising the bar with the program's hammer throw record and junior
Alisha Singleton (Somerdale, NJ/Sterling) and sophomore
Cameron Dobbins (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) both notched ECAC qualifiers to lead the Scarlet Raptors' performances here Saturday at the Widener University Invitational.
Nicolette Stafford...outstanding performances in the 200- and 400-meter dashes
Singleton finished eighth of 39 athletes in the 100 hurdles in a tie of 15.68, marking the second time in three meets she beat the ECAC minimum standard of 15.81. She ran a personal best 15.57 at the Oscar Moore Open on April 8 and nearly posted another ECAC qualifier on April 12, barely missing with a 15.82 clocking at the Gwynedd Mercy Mid-Week Twilight Invitational. Singleton also finished 29th of 52 in the 100-meter dash (13.49).
Dobbins finished third of 70 in the 100-meter dash in an ECAC-qualifying time of 11.03. It is his fourth ECAC qualifier at 100 meters in five meets this season. He also finished fourth of 94 in the 200-meter dash, posting a time of 22.51 to barely miss his fourth ECAC qualifier in that event this season.
Harper, meanwhile, set the old program mark of 39.08 last year as a freshman and he has raised that standard in each of the past three meets. He had a hammer throw of 39.15 at the Oscar Moore Open, raised it to 39.41 at the Gwynedd Mercy Mid-Week Twilight Invitational and broke his own mark again on Saturday. Harper had a throw of 39.86 to finish 16th of 25 competitors in the event.
Freshman
Kyleigh Stevenson (Carneys Point, NJ/Penns Grove) placed eighth of 29 athletes in the javelin (33.82 meters).
Olivia Rocks (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) continued her outstanding freshman year, which started last fall during cross country season, by placing 42nd of 93 runners at 1,500 meters. She posted a personal best time of 5:12.16. Rocks also finished 40th of 88 at 800 meters with another personal best of 2:31.95.
Freshman
Nicolette Stafford (Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Regional) finished 32nd of 72 in the 200-meter dash (28.26) and 30th of 69 in the 400-meter dash (1:03.85).
On the men's side, junior
Eric Gilchrist Jr. (New Castle, DE/Christiana) finished 49th of 78 in the 400-meter dash (53.73). Another junior,
Richard Campolungo (Burlington, NJ/Holy Cross) placed 72nd of 104 in the 1,500-meter run (4:22.78).
The Raptors will send a few athletes to the Lions Invitational at The College of New Jersey Friday and Saturday.
