Center Valley, PA (March 17, 2018) - The Rutgers University-Camden women's lacrosse team dropped it's first contest of the season here today, falling to non-conference opponent DeSales University by a final score of 14-4. Rutgers-Camden drops to 1-1 on the young season, while DeSales moves to 2-4.
A scoreless 8 minutes opened the game before the Bulldogs tallied the opening goal, and an aggressive attack during the entire first half saw DeSales extend their lead to 8-0 before the halftime horn blew.

Nicole Curry (Maple Shade, NJ, Camden Catholic) scored back-to-back goals to cut the Bulldogs' lead to 8-2. Both tallies were unassisted.
Curry led the Raptors in goals on the day with her brace.

Meghan Giordano both added goals in the final minutes of the second half, but the Bulldogs' lead was too much to catch for the Raptors' attack.

Kacie Walton (Columbus, NJ, Northern Burlington) led the Raptors in ground balls with 6, while
Walton and senior midfielder
Nicole Martin (Delran, NJ, Delran) both led in caused turnovers with 2. Junior defender
Cara Racobaldo (Pennsauken, NJ, Camden Catholic) had a team-high 3 draw controls.
Goalkeepers
Caitlyn Snyder (Somerdale, NJ, Sterling) and
Brittany Watson (Millville, NJ, Millville) both saw action in the cage for Rutgers-Camden, as
Snyder picked up the loss on the day. Both goalkeepers combined to turn away 16 shots from DeSales, as
Watson made 12 and
Snyder contributed 4.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action for their home opener in less than 48 hours, as they host Penn State Abington this Monday, March 19 for a 4pm start.
