Camden, NJ (April 14, 2018) – On one of the first beautiful spring afternoons of 2018, the Rutgers University-Camden women's lacrosse team battled Montclair State University in New Jersey Athletic Conference play to try to gain momentum in the race for the playoffs. The Red Hawks edged out the Scarlet Raptors by a final score of 18-4.
With the loss, the Scarlet Raptors drop to 2-6 and 0-2 in the NJAC standings. Montclair extends its record to 7-5 (2-1 NJAC).
Three of the four Raptors' goals were scored in the first half, with senior attack
Natalie DiCarlo (Sicklerville, NJ, Gloucester Catholic) adding 2 in the opening stanza to increase her total on the season to 13. Both of her tallies were unassisted. Junior defender
Cara Racobaldo (Pennsauken, NJ, Camden Catholic) netted her 7
th goal of the season on an assist from sophomore midfielder
Meghan Giordano (Pennsauken, NJ, Camden Catholic).
Racobaldo fired home her second goal of the game in the closing half to finish the scoring for Rutgers-Camden on the afternoon. Montclair led on the day in both draw controls (20-3) and ground balls (22-13).

Racobaldo caused a team-high 3 turnovers, while she added 3 ground balls. Freshman goalkeeper
Brittany Watson (Millville, NJ, Millville) led in ground balls with 5. She also turned away 7 shots in the cage for Rutgers-Camden. The loss drops her record on the season to 2-4.
Rutgers-Camden continues NJAC action when they travel to Stockton University on Tuesday, April 17 for a 4pm start.
