LANGHORNE, Penn. (Sept. 11, 2019) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team won its second consecutive match here Wednesday, sweeping past Cairn University, 9-0, in non-conference play to even its record at 2-2.
All six Scarlet Raptors captured a pair of wins in both singles and doubles, including 6-0, 6-0 singles sweeps by seniors
Aubrey Hawn and
Danielle Lemma at the first and fifth spots, respectively.
Sophomore
Tiffany Trivers won at second singles (6-1, 6-0), freshman
Laurel DiStefano captured a 6-2, 6-1 decision at third singles, sophomore
LeAnne Hall won at fourth singles (6-1, 6-0) and sophomore
Morgan Dempsey won at sixth singles (6-1, 6-1).
Lemma and Trivers combined for an 8-2 win at first doubles. Hawn and Hall won their second doubles match, 8-0, and DiStefano combined with Dempsey for an 8-0 sweep at third doubles.
With her two wins, Lemma climbed to fourth place on the program's career chart for singles wins (19), increased her doubles victories to 17 (also fourth on the career list) and tied for fourth in overall wins (36).
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference match at Kean University.
