CAMDEN, N.J. (Sept. 21, 2019) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team had never defeated New Jersey Athletic Conference foe Ramapo College until posting a 6-3 win last season.
The Scarlet Raptors made it two wins in a row over the Roadrunners here Saturday.
Rutgers-Camden posted an 8-1 victory over Ramapo as the Scarlet Raptors won their fifth straight match, raising their overall record to 5-2. They are 2-2 in NJAC play.
Ramapo, which is now 7-2 all-time against Rutgers-Camden, falls to 2-2 overall this season. The Roadrunners are 0-2 in NJAC play.

Morgan Dempsey won their third doubles match, 8-4.
The Raptors won five of the six singles matches, including a 6-0, 6-0 sweep by Dempsey at sixth singles and a 6-1, 6-0 victory by Lemma in the fifth spot. Hawn won at first singles, 6-2, 6-0, Hall won in the fourth position, 6-0, 6-4, and Trivers captured the second singles when her opponent retired. DiStefano lost a match at third singles, 6-4, 6-1.
Dempsey, Hall, Lemma and Trivers share the best singles mark on the team this season at 5-2 apiece. Hall is 6-1 in doubles, including 5-1 when paired with Hawn.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Sept. 28 when it hosts William Paterson University at 12 p.m. in another NJAC match.
