CAMDEN, NJ (Sept. 28, 2019) – The Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team had plenty to celebrate here Monday as it closed its fall semester with another victory.

Danielle Lemma, who have left a huge impression on the program during their tenure at Rutgers-Camden. They celebrated another highly-successful season as they ended the campaign with an 8-2 record overall and a 4-2 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, and they celebrated another sweep as they blanked Rutgers-Newark, 9-0, in NJAC action.
Over the past two fall semesters, the Scarlet Raptors have posted records of 8-1 and 8-2, respectively, while going 5-1 and 4-2 in NJAC play. Rutgers-Camden ended its Fall 2018 semester with seven straight wins and upped the ante this semester, winning its last eight fall matches.
During their eight-game winning streak to end the semester, the Scarlet Raptors dominated opponents. After posting a 5-4 victory over Goucher College for their first win of the season Sept. 8, Rutgers-Camden won six of their final seven matches by a 9-0 score, including the final three over a four-day span from Friday through Monday. The only non-sweep in that span was an 8-1 victory over Ramapo College Sept. 21.
Rutgers-Camden jumped off to a quick start by sweeping its doubles competition against the Scarlet Raiders, who dropped to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in NJAC play. Lemma and sophomore

Hawn won her match at first singles, 6-0, 6-0, while Trivers captured her competition at the second singles spot by scores of 6-1, 6-1. DiStefano capped a terrific day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at third singles, only a few hours after earning honors as the NJAC Rookie of the Week.

Lemma and Dempsey posted 6-0, 6-0 sweeps at fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Freshman
Julia Harrington completed the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the sixth position to notch her second collegiate singles win. She finished her first collegiate semester with a 2-0 mark in singles and a 1-0 doubles record.
Lemma and Trivers both closed the semester with 8-2 records in singles, while Dempsey and Hall were each 7-2 and DiStefano was 7-3. Hawn owned a 6-3 record at first singles.
Hall posted a 9-1 mark in doubles, including 8-1 while teaming with Hawn and 1-0 combining with Dempsey. Hawn went 8-1 in doubles, while Dempsey and DiStefano were both 7-2, including 6-2 as a team at third doubles. Lemma and Trivers combined to post a 7-3 record at first doubles.
Lemma, a four-year Scarlet Raptor letterwinner and the team's captain, closed her fall semester with a career record of 25-18 in singles and 23-20 in doubles for 48 overall wins. She ranks second on the program's all-time victory list for singles, doubles and overall wins.
Hawn, in only her second year at Rutgers-Camden after a stellar two-year career at Randolph College, owns a 14-5 singles mark and a 15-4 doubles record through the fall semester during her Scarlet Raptor career.
