Laurel DiStefano and sophomore
Morgan Dempsey combined for a doubles victory and each won their singles match as the Rutgers University-Camden women's tennis team earned its first win of the fall semester, 5-4, at Goucher College here Sunday.
DiStefano earned her first collegiate win, teaming with Dempsey for an 8-7 (7-3) win at third doubles. She added her first collegiate singles win at the third flight with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Dempsey, meanwhile, added a 6-1, 6-0 victory at sixth singles.
The Scarlet Raptors also won at second doubles, 8-5, behind the combination of sophomore
LeAnne Hall and senior
Aubrey Hawn. Their other Raptor win came at fifth singles, where senior captain
Danielle Lemma posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
In the first doubles spot, Lemma and sophomore
Tiffany Trivers dropped an 8-3 decision.
Hawn lost a marathon at first singles, 6-4, 2-6, 3-6, while Trivers lost at second singles, 4-6, 0-6. Hall dropped a 2-6, 5-7 decision at fourth singles.
Rutgers-Camden (1-2) returns to action Wednesday with a 5 p.m. match at Cairn University.
