GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. (Oct. 21, 2021) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team didn't take long to take care of business here Thursday night.
The Scarlet Raptors took only one hour and 22 minutes to dispatch of Gwynedd Mercy University, 3-0, in a non-conference match. Rutgers-Camden won by scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-18.
The victory snapped a two-match losing streak for the Scarlet Raptors, who raised their record to 15-8. Gwynedd Mercy fell to 7-18.
Senior setter
Brinn Hassan had a double-double for the Raptors, collecting a game-high 28 assists and a team-high 15 digs.
Sophomore middle blocker/outside hitter
Kaliyah Moss notched eight kills and eight digs, while adding two aces and tying for game-high honors with four blocked shots (two solo and two assisted). Senior middle hitter
Devyn Cobb also had four blocks (one solo, three assisted), while adding five kills.
Sophomore middle hitter/outside hitter
Isabella Choice collected seven kills while hitting .462 and sophomore outside hitter/right side
Erica Nebrich added seven kills and a match-high three service aces.
Senior defensive specialist
Haley Novak collected six digs, two assists and one service ace.
The Scarlet Raptors return to Pennsylvania on Saturday for a tri-match at Alvernia University in Reading. They face the host team at 11 a.m. and Brooklyn College at 1 p.m.
