Box Score 2 READING, Penn. (Oct. 23, 2021) – The Rutgers University-Camden volleyball team raised its record to 17-8 here Saturday by sweeping a tri-match against Alvernia University and Brooklyn College.
The Scarlet Raptors defeated the host Golden Wolves, 3-0, in the first match, winning 25-15, 25-20 and 25-14. They completed the sweep with a 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 25-20 win over Brooklyn.
The Scarlet Raptors play at Rutgers-Newark Tuesday in a 7 p.m. New Jersey Athletic Conference match.
Rutgers-Camden 3, Alvernia 0
The Scarlet Raptors opened the match with kills by senior
Devyn Cobb and sophomore
Erica Nebrich, took advantage of two Alvernia errors and built a quick 4-0 lead en route to winning the opening set.
Sophomore
Kaliyah Moss led the Scarlet Raptors with her 10th double-double of the season, collecting 12 kills and 14 digs, while hitting .478 and collecting five blocks (two solo, three assisted). Seniors
Brinn Hassan and
Morgan Fox notched 32 assists and 22 digs, respectively.
Nebrich finished with seven kills and two aces, while Cobb had four blocks (one solo, three assisted). Sophomores
Dyamond Free and
Isabella Choice collected six and five kills, respectively.
Rutgers-Camden 3, Brooklyn 1
The Scarlet Raptors received 13 kills from Choice and 10 apiece from Moss and Cobb as they drilled 52 kills in the four-set match. Nebrich added eight kills, Free notched six and Hassan added four kills to go along with her match-high 41 assists. Hassan also led the Raptors with three service aces.
Fox collected 20 digs to lead the team, while senior
Delaney Kolb added 11. Fox, Kolb and Moss added two aces apiece.
Cobb, who hit .318 in the match, led the way with four blocks (one solo, three assisted), while Moss collected three assisted blocks.
