Ethan Pritchett hurled six innings of three-hit shutout ball to lead the Rutgers University-Camden baseball team over Western New England University, 4-2, here Thursday morning.
Pritchett walked two and struck out nine as he raised his record to 2-0. Junior righty
Nick Listro worked the final three innings to collect his first save, allowing four hits and two runs, while striking out three.
The victory lifts the Scarlet Raptors to 7-6, while the Golden Bears fall to 5-2.
Rutgers-Camden broke a scoreless deadlock in the bottom of the third inning when junior catcher
Jake Guglielmi hit a one-out double and scored ahead of a home run by junior first baseman
Jack Murphy. It was Murphy's fifth home run of the season and stretched his team-leading hitting streak to 12 games.
The Raptors added two more runs in the sixth inning after senior shortstop
Jesse Gerdes hit a one-out single and stole second. He advanced to third on a passed ball. Freshman center fielder
Chris Bonafiglia walked and stole second. One out later, both players scored on a single by junior second baseman
Danny Vazquez.
Western New England scored twice in the top of the eighth inning on three hits, including a two-run home run by freshman designated hitter CJ Willis.

Andrew Brown both went 2-for-4 for Rutgers-Camden, with Vazquez and Murphy collecting two RBIs apiece.
Rutgers-Camden returns to action Friday, playing a 1:30 p.m. game against Ripon College (Ripon, Wisconsin) in Auburndale, Florida.
